Foxtrot Erickson Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009, British Columbia

Foxtrot is located in the Naramata Bench of B.C. The winery has a resident black bear named Fred that lives around the vineyard! The winery was inspired by an early 1900’s dance, hence the name “foxtrot”. I personally have a soft spot in my heart for 1920’s big band swing music and pinot noir so this beauty seemed like an obvious choice. I can definitely drink pinot noir all year long but this bottle is something special.

Its maturity gives it notes of forest floor, spice, strawberry and cherry on the nose. The palate is similar to the nose with a bit of rhubarb, it’s well balanced and has a long finish. A glass of this will give you the warm fuzzies during the winter season. Pinot Noir is versatile when pairing with food. Pork, poultry, grilled salmon, lamb, mushrooms, brie and gruyere cheese works well, just to list a few! I personally enjoy pairing this wine with a cozy blanket and cuddles from my cat!
