The Benjamin Bridge vineyards are located in the heart of the Gaspereau Valley on the Bay of Fundy, where the cool climate bears an uncanny affinity with the Champagne region of France. In just a little more than a decade, Benjamin Bridge has firmly established their status as Canada's most acclaimed sparkling wine house.

And not only is the newest member of our little team from Nova Scotia, his previous job before moving to Calgary a few months ago was as Benjamin Bridge! See below for Pascal’s notes!

The ever so popular Nova 7. Charmingly approachable, a sunny afternoon’s delight or the evening’s memorable pairing. Born at Benjamin Bridge winery in 2007, this secret mix of delicious grape varietals took not only the province but the country by storm. A wine for every occasion, for every wine drinker and for every celebration.

Its wild yeast fermentation is a beautiful parallel to the minimal intervention winemaking philosophy, cold and controlled fermentation to trap the natural effervescence and the masterful blend of varietals that grow best in the cool maritime climate.

Its delicate nose reflects the crisp, jaw-dropping Gaspereau Valley and its bountiful harvest with notes of granny smith and green apples and the feeling of fresh spring rain. On the palate, a sunset of tropical fruit, mango, lychee all the while refreshed by a wave of natural effervescence that dances across the palate.

The finish is as crisp as the morning air, the lingering lychee and red apple leaves you wanting more.

My favorite pairing to accompany fried chicken, spicy Jamaican flavors and (my east coast bias talking) oysters. An ode to the maritime wine scene and a Nova Scotia phenomenon, Benjamin Bridge’s Nova 7 will always be a favorite.
